What to do about wardrobe items that see the least use

I don’t know about you, but I have certain items in my wardrobe that I never wear. I guess we all have those pieces in our wardrobes that we just never seem to wear.

As we go through our lives, our wardrobe choices change to adapt to our current lifestyle and needs. Over time, we accumulate clothing and accessories that we no longer need or use, but we hang on to them anyway “just in case.”

Not to mention, other scenarios such as whether it’s that dress you bought for a special occasion or those shoes that are just too uncomfortable to ever actually use, that one dress we never wear or those shoes we bought on sale and never ended up wearing, we all have clothing items that see the least amount of use. But, that doesn’t mean that I don’t think they’re important to have in my closet. In fact, I think they might be some of the most important items in my wardrobe. Indeed While it’s tempting to get rid of these items, sometimes it’s worth hanging onto them in case you ever need them. They’re like old friends that we keep around for sentimental value, even though we know we’ll never use them again.

On the flip side, hanging on to “some” of these items takes up valuable space in our closets and can make getting dressed each day more difficult than it needs to be.

So that said, let’s jump in…

As we mentioned, fashion (and yes, both women’s fashion and men’s fashion) is a way to express yourself and your unique personality, we all have our own personal style. But, sometimes it can be difficult to figure out how to make the most use of the clothing you already have, we find ourselves with a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. First, take inventory of what you have. Pull everything out of your closet and take a good look at it, move to one side everything that you haven’t worn in a while. What do you love? What do you never wear? What needs to be updated or replaced? This will help you get a better idea of what you have to work with. Once you have a good idea of what you have to work with, you can start putting together some new outfits.

Think about how you can mix and match items to create new looks. Don’t be afraid to get creative! Don’t be afraid to experiment with different combinations. You might be surprised at what you come up with. If you have a dress you love but never wear, why not pair it with a denim jacket and sneakers for a more casual look? Finally, consider accessorizing. The right accessories can transform even the most basic outfit, they can really make an outfit pop.

Hopefully, you now have a better idea of how to streamline your wardrobe and get more use out of the clothing you already have.
